Happy International Women’s Day!
“Women don’t just belong in this industry, they’re helping lead it forward.”
Across the towing and recovery industry, we are seeing more and more women stepping into leadership roles, both in the office and out in the field. Their dedication, skill, and professionalism are helping shape the future of this industry.
At Gary’s Towing, we are proud to have some of the most incredible women on our team. Their hard work, commitment, and contributions play a significant role in our continued success.
Today, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate them.
We’d like to introduce you to the faces of the women of Gary’s Towing.
Sarah
Sarah is a staple at Gary’s Towing and truly embodies the definition of a strong, empowering woman. She serves as our Office Supervisor and Accounts Receivable, playing a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly every day.
Sarah is the go to person not only for our office staff but also the trusted right hand woman to our General Manager. It’s not uncommon to find her juggling multiple tasks at once, and no matter how busy she is, she will always drop what she’s doing to lend a helping hand.
If she’s not in the office, chances are you’ll find her out on the highway helping lead our Traffic Control Division, ensuring the safety of both our team and the public.
Sarah is a beautiful, hardworking woman, and we couldn’t be more proud to have her as part of Team Blue.
Jordan
Jordan has been away from us for 281 days (yes, we’re counting!) following the birth of her beautiful baby boy.
Jordan is truly a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to towing and recovery. You never quite know where you’ll find her; driving a tow truck, working as Traffic Control Supervisor, dispatching, supporting accounting, overseeing the hauling division, or tackling the million and one tasks that help keep the General Manager organized. No matter the role, she handles it all with style and grace.
While we are anxiously awaiting her return, we are incredibly proud of her for adding the most rewarding title of all, Mom.
We can’t wait to welcome her back to Gary’s Towing.
Heather
Heather is employed in our Light Duty Division as an operator, and she is full of drive. She brings great energy to the team with her eagerness to get the job done and her commitment to expanding her knowledge in the towing and recovery industry.
Heather has already taken a proud place within our Emergency Recovery Division, stepping in wherever she’s needed; whether it’s rigging or assisting our Traffic Control team on scene.
We’re proud to have Heather as part of Team Blue, and we look forward to watching her continue to grow and break barriers in the industry.
Lily
Lily stepped into the role of Dispatcher with an eagerness to learn and grow that quickly stood out to our team.
Since signing her Emergency Recovery agreement and completing her Book 7 certification, Lily has worked tirelessly to expand her skills and support the team wherever she’s needed. From long nights that turn into early mornings on the highways of Northwestern Ontario, she always shows up with dedication and a big energy (sometimes even a little dancing- check our TikTok).
We’re proud to have Lily as part of Team Blue and are incredibly grateful for the commitment and hard work she brings to Gary’s Towing every day.
Cali
Cali joined our Emergency Recovery Division as a member of our Traffic Control team, and we’re proud of the drive and determination she brings to the job.
Since completing her Book 7 certification, Cali has shown up ready to take on the long days and demanding conditions that come with working on the highways of Northwestern Ontario.
When the exhaustion starts to set in, Cali is often the one energizing the team over the radios. Her enthusiasm keeps spirits high, even when the energy drinks stop doing their job.
Keep up the great work, Cali!
Baljinder
Baljinder leads our Accounting Department, and she’s someone the entire team is incredibly grateful for, especially since she makes sure everyone gets paid (LOL).
Her drive and dedication to the company are truly remarkable. Whether it’s taking a late night call from Ashley to process an emergency payment or making sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly, Baljinder is always available and eager to help.
Her commitment plays a vital role in keeping our operations moving forward every day.
Thank you for all your hard work, Baljinder, we truly appreciate you!
Emma
You can see Emma around our Emergency Recovery scenes working as a flag person, helping support the team while she attends school full time.
We’re lucky to have Emma lending a helping hand whenever she can, and we truly appreciate the dedication she brings while balancing both school and work.
At Gary’s Towing, we’re proud to support women in this industry. Whether it’s in the office, behind the wheel of a tow truck, out on emergency recovery scenes, or in leadership.
These women don’t just wear one hat, they wear several. The dispatcher answering your call could be the same person protecting the public and our team on the side of a highway in –30°C temperatures. Your light duty tow truck driver might also be down in the ditch rigging lines for the Heavy Division during a recovery. This industry is demanding, and we’re proud to say we employ some of the very best.
Across many traditionally male dominated industries, women are continuing to break barriers, and at Gary’s Towing, we proudly stand behind and support that progress.
To the women of Gary’s Towing:
Thank you for showing up every day, hanging one hat up, and putting another one on. Your dedication, strength, and commitment do not go unnoticed.
Closing Statement from the General Manager
I want to thank my incredible team of hardworking and dedicated women for their resilience and commitment. I know there are days when we don’t know if we’re coming or going, whether we’ll make it home to our children in time for dinner, or when the next call will come in, but through it all, you continue to show up and give it your best.
I see each of you, and I am so proud to have you on my team.
To all the other women out there in this industry, keep up the incredible work. You are making a difference every single day.
Cheers to every one of you.
— Ashley Morrison
