License Class
Light-duty trucks require a class G license
Light-duty trucks with air-brake require a GZ (none of our light-duty fleet have airbrake at this time)
A class G license can tow a combined weight of 11,000 KG (truck and load) and the load cannot exceed 4,600 KG
Dimensions
The average length of a light-duty flatbed is 20-22ft (please reference the “Meet the Fleet” tab on our website to see our fleet details). You’re allowed 3’0 overhang flagged (there are also tricks we can do to extend deck, talk to Ashley or Kyle for further specifics). This means, anything you put on a flatbed regarding freight or equipment cannot exceed the length of the deck + 3’0.
Rule-of-thumb, a class G license cannot carry over 11,000 lbs with the truck combination (anything over 11,000 lbs immediately upgrade service to a medium-duty truck)
The highest point you can tow anything (light, medium, and float) is 13’6 without a permit (this is from the ground to the highest point). The average height on a light-duty flatbed is 3’6 (medium is 4’0) from the ground. Rule-of-thumb, max height of load is 10’0. Whether it’s a shed, ice shack, camper, box truck - max height of the load for light and medium duty flatbed is 10’0.
The average width of a light-duty flatbed is 8’0. For structures (shed, ice shack etc.), you can exceed the 8’0, talk to Ashley or Kyle.
The customer is responsible for providing accurate dimensions of the load! Ensure for all equipment, freight, box trucks, campers (including AC unit height) you get the dimensions and the customer is aware that if they provide false dimensions they will be responsible for the fees associated.

License Class
Medium-duty trucks require a class DZ license (airbrake endorsement)
A class DZ license can operate trucks over 11,000 KG but- the towed load itself cannot exceed 4,600 KG. They are not permitted to tow a 53’ trailer. But, can operate a heavy wrecker.
