NEVER SAY “WE DON’T HAVE A TRUCK” WITHOUT INVESTIGATING FURTHER! Even if you know all the trucks are busy, you continue the call until you know it is something we have to pass.

I cannot stress the above enough! You will often learn that there is more to the call than initially provided. We prioritize OPP, accidents, and heavy winching above everything!

Heavy (Big)

  • OPP / Accident

NEVER DECLINE AN OPP HEAVY (BIG) CALL! IF YOU'RE UNSURE, CALL ASHLEY! IF ASHLEY DOESN'T ANSWER CALL KYLE.

It is very important to ALWAYS ask if it's blocking the highway. This will be a determining factor if our driver is not in the area.

YOU CANNOT PRICE ACCIDENT OR OPP CALLS.

IF THE COMPANY CALLS TO REQUEST PRICING, TELL THEM "I AM CALLING THE MANAGER NOW, THEY WILL CALL YOU DIRECTLY TO PROVIDE PRICING"

CALL MANAGEMENT BEFORE DISPATCHING SOMEONE ON OPP/ACCIDENT

    ***CALL MANAGEMENT BEFORE PASSING OPP/ACCIDENT*

I cannot stress how imperative it is that you do not make any decisions pertaining to accident/OPP calls. These are the calls that keep us in business. Please follow all directions above!

  • WINCH OR "IN THE DITCH"

Heavy winching are very sensitive calls. Call Ashley or Kyle when in doubt!

***DO NOT PASS HEAVY (BIG) WINCH WITHOUT GETTING ALL DETAILS AND CALLING MANAGEMENT!

Many different scenarios may require a winch:
Can't get traction up the hill
    Stuck on ice
Pulled over on the soft shoulder
    Jackknifed tractor-trailer

OR they are literally in the ditch!

    Important questions:
    1. Location
    2. Is it blocking the highway?
    3. What tires are in the ditch?
    3. Ask them to send pictures. Ashley and Kyle can accept text or WhatsApp (you will find a lot of people want to use WhatsApp)

  • TOWING

Generally, if you get a call for a heavy to tow a tractor it includes a tractor and trailer (please reference images below). If it is both, you require two trucks. Please call your available heavy driver on call and he will organize a truck for the trailer.

You need to quote for two trucks when it includes a tractor and trailer! When in doubt, call Ashley or Kyle.

(OTHER TERMS: DRY VAN/REEFER)

Important questions:
1. Any issues with the trailer?
2. Is it loaded?
3. If so, how much weight?

When there are no mechanical or physical issues with the trailer, you require a tractor to bring it in. We have tractors and drivers that will go out with the heavy unit to move the trailer. Call the heavy driver that is available, they will organize the tractor and driver.

When the issue is with the trailer only, you require a heavy to tow it. Ask the questions above, accept the call, and call Kyle. If we’re unable to complete the call because of other circumstances, we will advise what to do next.
